How far will I have to walk from the Festival car park, bus stop or drop-off point?

Not very far at all. The Festival Car Park, the Bus Stop and the Festival Drop-off/Pick-up Point is literally adjacent to the Festival site.

How do I get to the Festival?

How do I get to the Festival?

You can reach Hylands Park (situated on the A414) by private car, taxi, bicycle, on foot or by shuttle bus.

If you travel by car, you will only be able to access the Festival via the entrance off the westbound carriageway towards Harlow. The postcode is CM2 8FS. Parking is only £5.50 and you will need a ticket purchased in advance.

A dedicated Festival Shuttle Bus will operate from the city centre to the Festival throughout the day, with more buses operating just before the start and just after the end of the Festival. The number of shuttle buses available will be precisely determined by the number of tickets sold in advance. Therefore it is important that you purchase shuttle bus tickets as soon as you know you need to travel in this way. The last bus to Hylands from the city centre is at approx. 8pm on the day. Note that last access to the Festival is at 9.30pm.

Tickets are only £6.50 return and the timetable and collection point/s will be announced shortly. It will be a short walk from the Festival Bus Stop at Hylands Park to the Festival.

Is there a place nearby to drop-off and collect passengers?

Yes, there will be a Festival Drop-off/Pick-up Point near to the Festival entrance – please follow relevant signage. There will also be space nearby for taxis to drop-off and collect customers. Please consider sharing vehicles whenever possible to minimise the environmental impact.

What if I can’t drive to Hylands Park? What are the alternatives?

We understand that not everyone owns a car or wishes to drive and that alternatives are necessary.

A dedicated Festival Shuttle Bus service will operate from Chelmsford City Centre (Coval Lane, Chelmsford, CM1 1TD) to the Festival throughout the day. Buses run at regular intervals from approx, 11.30am until 11.15pm.

Tickets for the shuttle bus must be bought in advance at £6.50 return. Note there may be a short wait and some walking involved using the bus service.

Taxis are also available to drive you to/from the Festival and we would ask that you share vehicles wherever possible.

If you live in parts of Chelmsford or Writtle, do consider walking to the site as many do to enjoy this beautiful park.
